December 16, 2004 Grant County Cow-Calf Management School set for Jan. 12-13 The North Dakota State University Extension Service will hold the Grant County Cow-Calf Management School on Jan. 12-13, 2005, at the county fair building in Carson, N.D. This intensive educational workshop is for cow-calf producers, lenders and beef cattle industry professionals interested in improving production efficiencies and lowering the cost of production in cow-calf operations. Extension specialists will cover topics including herd health, nutrition, range management, reproduction, genetics, and business management and marketing. “This workshop will provide a sound educational basis for making production and marketing decisions in beef cattle production,” said Greg Lardy, an NDSU Extension beef specialist who helped organize the school. Extension specialists also will be available to give participants individual assistance. Dec. 31 is the deadline to register for the school. The event is limited to 25 people, so registration will end sooner if the class is full. The cost is $25 per person. That includes two meals and the NDSU Cow-Calf Management Handbook with reference materials. To register, mail a completed registration form and the fee to the Grant County Extension Service, Courthouse, Box 137, Carson, ND 58529. Write checks to the Grant County Extension Service. For more information, contact the Grant County Extension office at (701) 622-3470. ### Source:
