Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop Set for Feb. 17-18 in Fargo

The 13th annual Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Feb. 17 and 18, at the Holiday Inn in Fargo. The workshop is designed to provide in-depth discussion on selected topics for agricultural professionals who advise farmers with crop production recommendations. The event is organized and conducted by the North Dakota State University and University of Minnesota Extension Services.

Pre-registration is requested and the workshop fee is $125 per person, if received by Feb. 14. The late registration fee is $150. Single-day pre-registration also is an option, with a fee of $75. On Feb. 17, topics will include:

  • Economics and practical pressures on fertilizer use trends
  • Corn production – what has the weather got to do with it?
  • Why grow wheat in 2005?
  • Understanding the precision of site-specific equipment

On Feb. 18, topics will include:

  • Overcoming barriers to maximizing soybean yield
  • Is integrated weed management a myth?
  • STS/Roundup Ready soybean and field tilling opportunities

Certified crop advisers (CCAs) attending the workshop will have the opportunity to receive 10 continuing education units.
