2005 Western Crop and Pest Management School in Williston, N.D., Feb. 23-24

The 2005 Western Crop and Pest Management School will be held at the Williston Research Extension Center on Feb. 23-24.This is the first time the event will be held in Williston instead of Minot.

The two-day school is an opportunity for farm producers as well as field agronomists to be updated on some of the latest research and pest management practices.

Speakers will include state and area Extension specialists from North Dakota and Montana, plus a scientist from the USDA Agricultural Research Service. A wide variety of topics will be discussed, including:

  • Fertility issues
  • Herbicide and weed updates
  • Water quality
  • Insect updates
  • Various crop frost concerns
  • Disease issues
  • Maturity characteristics of various crop varieties

Thirteen CPU credits are being submitted to the Certified Crop Advisers program and appropriate educational materials will be provided. The registration fee is $100 per person and the deadline is Feb. 11. A $25 late fee will be charged for registrations received after this date.
