January 21, 2005 Research Results and Technology Conference Set for Feb. 22 The 2005 Research Results and Technology Conference will be Feb. 22 at the Seven Seas Inn and Conference Center in Mandan, N.D. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Registration is at 8 a.m. The program starts at 8:30. Speakers will cover topics that include building living soils, improving the bottom line with carbon sequestration, crop production and disease, soil water use, raising and marketing beef cattle, the North Dakota State University Beef Center of Excellence and improving people’s health and well-being through better diets. Representatives from the North Dakota Grain Growers Association, Northern Canola Growers Association, North Dakota Barley Growers Association, North Dakota Soybean Council, AmeriFlax, North Dakota Corn Utilization Council, National Sunflower Association and North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Association will provide commodity updates. The U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory in Mandan and the Area 4 Soil Conservation Districts’ Cooperative Research Farm south of Mandan sponsor the conference. Certified crop advisers can receive 5½ hours of continuing education credit for attending this conference.
