January 27, 2005 N.D. Crop Improvement and Seed Association Annual Meeting Scheduled The North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association will conduct its 53rd annual conference Feb. 8 at the Doublewood Inn, Bismarck. All certified seed growers, conditioners and retailers or anyone interested in the certified seed industry is encouraged to attend. The meetings are open to the public. Meeting registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and committee meetings at 9:30. Registration for the seed show will be accepted on-site Monday, Feb. 7, from 2 to 9 p.m., and preceding the conference from 7 to 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. Eligible varieties for the seed show include the registered classes of LaMoure soybeans, Stark oats, Tradition barley, and Steele-ND and Granger spring wheat increased through the county crop improvement system. All entries must have completed final certification to be eligible. Featured speakers at this year’s conference include Roger Johnson, North Dakota agriculture commissioner; Kim Koch, Northern Crops Institute; and Cherie Harms, North Dakota Trade Office. The registration fee, which includes meals and breaks, is $35 ($25 if received in the state crop improvement office by Feb. 1). The office can be reached at P.O.
