Flax Production and Marketing Meetings Scheduled for February

North Dakota State University Research Extension Centers and AmeriFlax will host flax production and marketing meetings throughout the state in February. The meetings, in Langdon and Bottineau on Feb.15, Minot on Feb. 16 and Carrington on Feb. 24, are opportunities for producers to learn more about flax production and marketing and to meet the key players in the flax industry.

Production topics will focus on variety selection, stand establishment, fertility recommendations, herbicides and weed control, flax rotations and harvest management.

A panel, including representatives from the linseed oil and meal industry and the food industry, will discuss flax marketing opportunities. An overview of the flax industry, along with discussions on contracting, quality control and delivery logistics, will be presented.

Feb. 24
Carrington – Carrington Research Extension Center, 1 to 4:30 p.m.
