March 14, 2005 Leadership Development Program Seeks Participants for Second Class Rural Leadership North Dakota is looking for participants for its second class. RLND is a two-year interactive study and travel program dedicated to producing graduates with the vision and commitment to lead themselves, their organizations and their communities into the future. The new class starts in October. Participants will attend 10 seminars and one study tour in the two-year period. The seminars will be held throughout the state. The tour is a six-day trip to Washington, D.C. Seminar topics include:
Class members also will connect electronically through e-mail, videoconferencing and Blackboard, an electronic classroom that will allow them to share ideas, thoughts and questions with each other and seminar presenters. In addition, participants will work on a project for their community or organization. Applications for the 2005-07 class are available online at www.ag.ndsu.nodak.edu/rlnd. If you want an application mailed to you, send a request to r-leader@ndsuext.nodak.edu. The deadline to apply is July 1. Send your application to Rural Leadership North Dakota Program, North Dakota State University, PO Box 5437, Fargo, ND 58105-5437. RLND is for men and women who want to create the conditions for rural North Dakota to grow and prosper. Applicants must have been a state resident for at least one year and be able to attend all of the seminars and the study tour. Participants will be responsible for tuition of $1,375 per year. Funding from other sources covers the rest of the $11,000 cost per participant. Those other funding sources include the NDSU Extension Service, North Dakota businesses and organizations, foundations, granting agencies and individuals.
