NDSU to Host Annual Bison West

The North Dakota State University Alumni Association will host “Bison West” June 2 at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center near Williston, N.D.

Bison West is an opportunity to bring NDSU to communities in western North Dakota, according to Duane Hauck, NDSU Extension Service director. “It gives us a chance to get input and discuss research and education needs vital to western North Dakota. It is a two-way learning experience. Bison West also gives us a chance to talk to prospective students who may want to attend NDSU.”

NDSU President Joseph and Gale Chapman will attend the event, which will be hosted by NDSU alumni Warren and Mary Froelich, Lee Gunlikson and Frank and Katie Keogh.

Along with a short program, a barbecue meal will be served. Cost for the event is $5 per person and free for children 12 and under. To register, contact Judy at the NDSU Extension office in Williams County at (701) 577-4595 or go to www.ndsualumni.com and click on events/reunions.

The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is a half mile east of the Fort Buford State Historic Site or 23 miles west of Williston. The center tells the story of the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers and offers the same view Lewis and Clark expedition members saw when they visited the area in 1804 and 1806.
