The class will include up to 30 members. Participants will attend 10 seminars and one study tour in the two-year period. The seminars will be held throughout the state. The tour is a six-day trip to Washington, D.C. Seminar topics include leadership, communication, culture and heritage, creative and critical thinking, project management, understanding the political system, resource management and civic engagement. Participants also create and implement a project in their organization and /or community that allows them to practice the skills they learn. Class members will connect electronically as well through e-mail, videoconferencing and Blackboard, an electronic classroom that will allow them to share ideas, thoughts and questions with each other and seminar presenters.
