Equine Photography Workshop Set at NDSU Oct. 8-9

Professional equine photographer Christy Doyea of Grand Forks will hold a workshop Oct. 8-9 at North Dakota State University.

This is the first of several equine educational events that the NDSU Equine Science Program will host in the coming months. All of the events are open to the public.

Doyea’s two-day workshop will provide participants with photography fundamentals and special instruction on photographing horses. It will combine classroom instruction with field experience.

Participants must bring their own camera and film or digital memory cards. NDSU will provide one-hour photo developing the night of Oct. 8. Participants also may bring 35 mm film to practice on Doyea’s camera.

The workshop begins with registration from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Oct. 8 in Hultz Hall Conference Room 104. Doyea will present a session on photography fundamentals in the morning in the conference room. The afternoon session will include a photo shooting demonstration and time for participants to practice. That will be at the NDSU Equine Center, which is at the North Dakota Horse Park, 5180 19th Ave. N.

The morning session Oct. 9 will be a critique and review of the previous day’s photos. It will be in Hultz Hall Conference Room 104. The afternoon session, titled “Capturing That Special Moment,” will be at the NDSU Equine Center.

Lunch will be provided both days.
