NDSU Equestrian
Team Places at Horse Show
The North Dakota State
University equestrian team was reserve high point team on the first day
of the recent Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s Western competition
in River Falls, Wis.
The team had a third-place
finish the second day of the competition.
Twelve members of
the 31-rider team competed in the Oct. 1-2 event.
Individual winners
were:
- Ashley Flick –
reserve high point rider both days. She earned a second place and a
third place in open Western horsemanship and two third places in reining
to become reserve high point rider.
- Kelley Lewis –
first and fifth in novice Western horsemanship
- Ilene Wiste –
first in intermediate II Western horsemanship
- Beci Hanna –
first and second in intermediate II Western horsemanship
- Jackie Feil –
second in beginner Western horsemanship
- Rachel Kramer
– third and fourth in novice Western horsemanship
- Maggie Lausten
– third in open Western horsemanship, sixth in reining
- Morgan Sager –
fourth in advanced Western horsemanship
- Lynn Brockway
– fourth in intermediate II Western horsemanship
- Abra Grosz –
fifth in reining
- Lindy Hausauer
– fifth in intermediate II Western horsemanship
- Carly Moen –
sixth in advanced Western horsemanship
The NDSU hunt seat
team opened its season at a competition in Madison, Wis., Sept. 24-25.
Its next competition will be at Carlton College, Northfield, Minn., on
Oct. 15-16.
