Diversity, Direction and Dollars Forum Set for Dickinson

The 10th annual Diversity, Direction and Dollars Agricultural Forum is set for Jan. 9 at the Days Inn Grand Dakota Lodge in Dickinson. “Managing for Success in 2006” is this year’s theme. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. MT, with a welcome scheduled for 9.

At 9:15, Terry Gregoire, North Dakota State University Extension Service area agronomist, will discuss key production issues for wheat. Gregoire will look at key production stages of wheat and stresses that occur at those growth stages in relationship to yield potential.

Gabe Brown, a Bismarck area farm producer, and Jay Fuhrer, Natural Resources Conservation Service, will address integrated livestock in a no-till cropping system. Legume utilization and soil health will be emphasized in this duo presentation. Their presentation begins at 10:45 a.m.

At 1 p.m., Jerry Gaulke, from Strategic Marketing Services Inc., Rockford, Ill., will talk about managing price risk in a volatile global agricultural economy. Gaulke will focus on the U.S. and global outlook for grains and cash-flow considerations.
