Klinefelter Headlines Farm Managers Meeting in Fargo Feb. 1

Danny Klinefelter, an agricultural economist at Texas A&M University, will present “Characteristics of Successful Farm Managers” and “The Future: What Agricultural Producers Need to Know” at the 97th annual Northwest Farm Managers Association meeting at the Fargo Holiday Inn on Feb 1.

Klinefelter is director of The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers (TEPAP), an internationally acclaimed education program for the top farming operations in the Western Hemisphere. He also has co-authored seven books on farm management and agricultural finance.

The event also will include speakers on three other topics of interest to producers – grain markets, the economy and tiling, according to Andrew Swenson, North Dakota State University Extension Service farm management specialist. Those speakers are:

*Virgil Robinson, senior market analyst for PHI, Des Moines, Iowa, and a regular analyst on Public Television’s Market-to-Market program, who will provide the grain market outlook

* Douglas Duncan, chief economist for the Mortgage Bankers Association, Washington D.C., who will provide the U.S. economic outlook

*Max Fuxa, Ellingson Drainage, Fargo, who will discuss the economics of tiling

The meeting is open to the public and starts at 9 a.m. The cost is $40, which includes a noon meal and breaks. No preregistration is required. For more information, call (701) 231-7393.
