NDSU Extension Service Offers Flood Help

Hundreds of North Dakotans and Minnesotans once again are struggling to save their homes and businesses from floodwaters.

The North Dakota State University Extension Service can help.

The Extension Service has information online on how to prepare for flooding. That includes advice on reducing water damage, building effective sandbag dikes, protecting livestock and storing agricultural chemicals safely.

The Extension Service also has considerable information on recovery after the flood, such as cleaning, disinfecting and rebuilding homes; salvaging food in the kitchen and garden; getting rid of mold; salvaging wet feed and grain, and maintaining livestock health.

Visit the Web site at www.ag.ndsu.edu/disaster/floods/ or contact your county Extension office for details.
