June 22, 2006 Pulse Crop Field Tour at Williston Research Extension Center on July 7 In cooperation with the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Association, the North Dakota State University Williston Research Extension Center will host a pulse crop field tour. The tour will take place on Friday, July 7, starting at 8:30 a.m. CDT with registration and coffee. The field tour will start at 9 a.m. Topics for the tour include weed control, a varieties update, insect and disease management, marketing concerns and various aspects of crop rotations. Several trials have been planted to provide information for producers. Speakers for the tour include Brian Jenks, North Central Research Extension Center weed scientist; Kent McKay, NCREC Extension area agronomist; Neil Riveland, WREC agronomist; Eric Bartsch, North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Association; Carl Bradley, NDSU Extension plant pathologist; Denise Markle, NCREC area crop protection specialist; and area pulse crop commodity businesses.
