July 6, 2006 Livestock Tour Highlighted at NDSU’s Carrington Research Extension Center Field Day The North Dakota State University Carrington Research Extension Center's annual beef production field day will be held Tuesday, July 18, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Using distillers grains in cow or calf rations, examining business plans for feedlots or measuring the value of field pea-fed beef will be highlights of the livestock tour. "The combination of research and economic development topics creates a unique livestock tour for 2006," says Karl Hoppe, livestock specialist at the center. "This is an excellent opportunity to interact with researchers, Extension staff, business development professionals and livestock producers.” The field day opens at 9 a.m. with registration and coffee.
