Also, management of downy mildew and late-season sunflower insects will be discussed. Tour participants will hear presentations and be able to view research trials on soybean varieties, plant nutrition and specialized inputs, and aphid management. Speakers include Duane Berglund and Joel Ransom, NDSU Extension Service agronomists; Greg Endres; Tom Gulja, USDA-ARS sunflower pathologist; Janet Knodel, NDSU Extension Service entomologist; Jerry Miller, USDA-ARS sunflower breeder; and Blaine Schatz, Carrington REC director and agronomist. A sponsored meal will be served after the tour. Sponsors include the North Dakota Soybean Council and Growers Association, National Sunflower Association and North Dakota Corn Growers Association.
