Pesticide Safety Practices Survey Will Be Arriving The second half of the Pesticide Safe Practices Survey will be going out to commercial applicators and dealers during October. It is part of the annual survey which was started during the certification meetings this past spring. I encourage you to complete the survey when you receive it and then return it, all for a good reason. This study has been an on-going project since 1992/93, making it possible to build a complete database on the adoption of pesticide safety practices. This information is important to the development of pesticide policy in North Dakota. Few studies on this topic have been done and that makes our study even more valuable to North Dakota. There are questions on both sides of the survey page; commercial applicators on one side and pesticide dealers on the back side. Be sure to complete the side that fits your situation the best. Some people may need to complete both sides. Your cooperation with this survey is fully appreciated. The more responses we receive the more accurate and stronger the study will be. When the data is tabulated and analyzed, the results will be published in the Pesticide Quarterly. It should show up in the winter or spring issue. If you should have any questions about the survey or the results, don't hesitate to call me (George Maher 701- 231-8288). I'm more than willing to share the information and discuss it with you.
