Poast Plus SLN status On September 11, 1995 the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency sent a letter to BASF and to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture stating that it was taking extra time to answer BASF's petition for EPA to revoke the North Dakota SLN allowing Poast Plus for use on several broadleaf crops. EPA stated to BASF that "Your petition raises a number of difficult issues with potentially far-reaching consequences. The agency wants and intends to give those issues the careful attention and consideration that they deserve." September 11, 1995 was believed to be the last date that EPA could revoke the SLN registration, but EPA informed BASF that the EPA did not have to act by September 11, because of the circumstances involving this SLN situation. BASF had petitioned EPA to revoke the Poast Plus SLN on June 23 and July 24, 1995 and asked to meet with EPA to discuss the matter. The North Dakota Department of Agriculture responded to EPA on BASF's petition on August 24, 1995. Both BASF and North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Sarah Vogel met with EPA late in August in separate meetings.
