Search Tips on News Articles

As with any Web page, you may use your Web browser's page search to find specific topics or words of interest on any one page.  Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator can help find words on a page by selecting their "Edit" drop down menu then select the "Find" option.  Both offer the Ctrl-F short cut for bringing up the find dialog box.

Simply type in the word you are looking for and click on find next.  For example:

With the Plains Folk index page on your screen press Ctrl-F, type sod house in the dialog box, then click on find next.  The search will highlight sod house in   the article: "Plains Folk: Sod Houses and Social Structures."  Click on that title to load the article.

This search procedure finds a word(s) on a page.  Our NDSU search button finds documents on our Web site.  World Wide Web searches like Yahoo and Alta Vista find documents on thousands of Web sites around the World.  Choose the search option which best fits your needs.
