The National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity is a
group of national organizations whose mission is to bring
public, private, and industry efforts into collaborative
partnerships that promote an increase in a physically active
lifestyle for all Americans. The coalition includes: American

Dance; American Cancer Society; American College of Sports
Medicine; American heart Association; International Health,
Racquet, & Sports Club Association; National Athletic

The President's Challenge is the Physical Activity and Fitness
Awards Program. This program started with the President's
Fitness Award in 1966. It currently has three program areas:
(1) Active Lifestyle Program; (2) Physical Fitness Program;
