What About Installing Mac Software?

Although the general downloading and installation process is the same, there are a few differences for installing software on a Macintosh computer:

  • Filenames ending in .sea or .bin are self extracting archives. Double-clicking on the file will start the installation process.

  • Filenames ending in .bin or .hqx are encoded files. To unencode one of these file types, you will need to open the file in a program like Stuffit Expander (http://www.aladdinsys.com/).

  • To install Macintosh software, double-click on the software's installation icon. This will start the installation process.
