Email Addresses

Email addresses work the same way as your postal mail address. It contains information on who you are and the host where your electronic mailbox is located. Email addresses can look like a bunch of hieroglyphics at first, but they are set up in a standard way:

Here are some example email addresses. Note that in most cases, email addresses are NOT case sensitive.

  • smith982@aol.com (America Online)
  • steveL@rconnect.com (Rural Connect ISP)
  • 77453.2285@compuserv.com (Compuserve)
  • rconlon@ndsuext.nodak.edu (NDSU Extension Service)
