Internet Access Costs
One of the most important things to consider when choosing an Internet provider are phone charges. Ideally, the phone number your modem uses to connect to the Internet should be a local call. If it is a long distance call, you will be charged long distance rates for the entire time you are connected. If you travel often and plan to access the Internet, consider a national ISP or a service that offers an 800 number. The higher cost these services charge may be worth the money you will save on long distance phone charges. There are national and local providers who have toll-free phone numbers in most communities.
