Printing Web
Pages
- Control how pages print. In either Netscape or Internet Explorer,
select File
Page Setup. From this dialog box you can change the page orientation and
specify what information (e.g. page title, URL, date, page number) appears on your printout.
|
In Internet Explorer, you can
print out a list of all URLs (called shortcuts) that appear in a given page. When you select Print,
check the "Print shortcuts in a table at the end of a document" option.
|
- You can print just part of a long Web page (more than will fit on one sheet).
In Netscape, select File...Print Preview and then use the "Next Page" button
to see which pages you want to print. Then, click the Print button. In the print dialog box, enter
the range of pages you want to print (e.g. 1-3).
Saving Text and
Images
- Copy text from a Web page and paste it into a word processing document.
In either Netscape or Internet Explorer, highlight the text you want to copy and select
Edit
Copy. Then, switch to your word processing document and select Edit
Paste.
- Save the text of a Web page to your computer. In Netscape or Internet
Explorer, select File
Save as File. In either browser you need to specify where you
want to save the page. You also have the option to save the page with the HTML codes intact or
as a plain text document.
- Save images on a Web page to your computer. In Netscape or Internet
Explorer, right-click on the image you want to save. From the drop-down menu that
appears, select the "Save image as
"
