- Be fast! This page should load as quickly as
possible.
- Think of your home page as a postera
window to your site.
- first impressions count
- describe the function of the site in a short passage
- Anticipate the needs of your user. Know your
audience.
- find out what appeals to them and what they want
- Exactly identify the name of the sponsoring
company.
- Provide contact information.
- Try to avoid scrolling on this page. Keep page
size to 560 x 420 pixels to fit in one screen.
- Don't list everything in your site on this page.
- avoid including too much detailed information at this level
- clearly display the content of the site
- Avoid using one large graphic only.
- better to use smaller graphics along with text
