The school is designed for individuals who will be scouting crops for pest and production problems. The program has multiple components to teach the basics in weed, disease and insect identification and scouting procedures, plus hands-on sessions devoted to important pest and production issues for major crops in the region. The school helps prepare individuals to be successful field scouts, and will update agricultural professionals on research and crop production recommendations for major crops grown in North Dakota.
Speakers include NDSU state and area Extension specialists and North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station faculty. Reference materials will be provided.
