4-H Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF)

This six-day intensive summer citizenship program is for youth ages 15-19 (at the time of the trip).

If you attend CWF, you can expect to get a behind-the-scenes look at our nation’s capital, become involved in activities that stress the importance of civic and social responsibility, and experience hands-on learning in our nation’s capital.

CWF is held in June or July, and is open to any youth (ages 15-19) who apply. The cost is approximately $1700. Registration deadline is March 1.

Could you survive in the wilds of North Dakota? Nature provides for all of our basic needs, so come have fun building shelters, tracking animals, and discovering cool and exciting wilderness skills such as fishing and orienteering. The school is designed for individuals who will be scouting crops for pest and production problems. The program has multiple components to teach the basics in weed, disease and insect identification and scouting procedures, plus hands-on sessions devoted to important pest and production issues for major crops in the region. The school helps prepare individuals to be successful field scouts, and will update agricultural professionals on research and crop production recommendations for major crops grown in North Dakota.
