Burleigh County 4-H Pet Supply Drive

Burleigh County 4-H will be doing a Pet Supply Drive from June 1 to July 28. Items can be dropped off at the Extension office and will be on display in the arena following the Static Judging during 4-H Achievement Days.

All items will be donated to area shelters/rescue including; Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue, Kitty City, Central Dakota Humane Society, and the Bismarck Pound.

Join us on Wednesday, July 12 for our 4-H Small Animal Show as part of 4-H Achievement Days. Furry Friends will here for a “Meet and Greet” of their adoptable animals. There will also be an Ice Cream Social immediately following the show.

programs and represent the North Dakota 4‐H program.

  • National 4‐H Conference is a week long program held at the National 4‐H Center, Chevy Chase, MD, in March/April. It is a future‐focused program that aims to build strong leaders through round table discussions,
    team‐building activities, group assemblies, and visits with national legislators.
  • National 4‐H Congress is held in November/December in Atlanta, GA. The program provides opportunities to learn about community involvement, culture diversity, and service to others.

Learn how real-life investigators solve forensic cases. Youth will be part of a mystery that they must solve before camp ends. Campers will be a part of collecting evidence, the basics of fingerprinting, DNA analysis, police investigative techniques and more. The camp will end with a dress-up mystery dinner, in which campers will try to solve the camp mystery using evidence they collected throughout the week!

We are pleased to introduce the 2017 4‑H National Youth Science Day challenge: Incredible Wearables.

Developed by University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Incredible Wearables is a hands-on STEM project that challenges young people to build a wearable fitness tracker that will help people lead healthier lifestyles.

To complete the challenge, kids must work together to design, build and refine a wearable health-tracking device that is low-cost, easy-to-use and aesthetically appealing.

Incredible Wearables is perfect for both classroom and out-of-school learning. The 75 to 90-minute hand-on project is highly adaptable and is suitable for 4th-12th graders.
